UTPAdvantage Program Requirements

Students meeting the qualifications listed below will have all tuition and fee expenses for the regular academic year (fall and spring) covered by grant and/or scholarship aid. Academic year enrollment charges will be covered with different forms of gift aid, including Federal, state, institutional (including the UTPAdvantage Grant) and private forms of scholarships and grants.

Fiscal Year 2008 Students must:

  • Have a family income of $30,000 or less and demonstrate financial need as reported on the FAFSA.
  • Be classified as a Texas resident.
  • Be enrolled for 15 hours or more per semester.
  • Be enrolled as an undergraduate in a degree-seeking program.
  • Have filed the FAFSA for the upcoming academic year by the April 1 Financial Aid Priority Deadline.
  • Be making satisfactory academic progress as defined by financial aid guidelines.

Fiscal Year 2007 Students must:

  • Have a family income of $25,000 or less and demonstrate financial need as reported on the FAFSA.
  • Be classified as a Texas resident.
  • Be enrolled for 15 hours or more per semester.
  • Be enrolled as an undergraduate in a degree-seeking program.
  • Have filed the FAFSA for the upcoming academic year by the March 1 Financial Aid Priority Deadline.
  • Be making satisfactory academic progress as defined by financial aid guidelines.

UTPAdvantage is available for a maximum of eight semesters or until graduation, whichever occurs first. Program funding each academic year is contingent upon availability of funds. Late payment fees, late registration fees, excess credit hour fees, class repeat fees, drop fees, and any fees for auxiliary services (such as parking or citation fees) are not covered by UTPAdvantage. UTPAdvantage is subject to normal financial aid overaward criteria.
